Domino Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Dominoes is a family of tile-based games played with rectangular "domino" tiles. Each domino is a rectangular tile with a line dividing its face into two square ends. Each end is marked with a number of spots (also called pips, nips, or dobs) or is blank. The backs of the dominoes in a set are indistinguishable, either blank or having some common design. The domino gaming pieces make up a domino set, sometimes called a deck or pack. The traditional Sino-European domino set consists of 28 dominoes, featuring all combinations of spot counts between zero and six. A domino set is a generic gaming device, similar to playing cards or dice, in that a variety of games can be played with a set. A boxed set of dominoes, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century The earliest mention of dominoes is from the Song dynasty China found in the text Former Events in Wulin by Zhou Mi (1232–1298). Modern dominoes first appeared in Italy during the 18th century, but how Chinese dominoes developed into the modern game is unknown. Italian missionaries in China may have brought the game to Europe.
A member of REDIT recently shared his/her opinion about DOMINO: How is dominos not a shitty game? "Trying to get the domino matches done for a gambler and it's completely grueling. I can hardly see any strategy, and the first player (last winner) gets a big advantage. The number of times I've seen someone take 3+ tiles from the boneyard on their 1st turn... This is like dice if it took 30min to play a single throw. God forbid you to try to play a full game of block you gonna be there all night Ever domino scene in a movie is people slapping down tiles and shouting and crap. Where is that game? That's what I want to play. Also, the camera is awful, when the board gets long I can't even see what tiles are anymore"
Manager/ Delivery Driver (Former Employee) says"Forget it if you're a driver. the company does not care about drivers or CSRs. They lie about how much you'll be getting paid, which is just minimum wage. No one trains new employees- you're just expected to know what you're doing. No benefits and lots of disrespectful behavior. Cons: no respect for employees, definitely replaceable."
Cashier (Former Employee) says"Very hard to work for someone who’s never happy. They don’t care about mental health at all. They don’t have an easy request off calendar. They do not respect the request off calendar. Cons: Everything."
Assistant Manager of Operations (Former Employee) says"Working day to day is great. I love my coworkers but always felt the need to help them and over work myself. I love helping people and that is why I stayed so long, but i was continuously forced to take management shift even though i resigned my contract as a csr and i was under compensated for my work as well as got 0 breaks- we were lucky to get lunches on 12!hour days. Cons: The company takes advantage of young people"
In-Store Worker (Former Employee) says"No leadership whatsoever and most coworkers were rude or just not helpful whatsoever. It was my first day and I was treated poorly. Not a great place to work at all. Cons: Everything"
Delivery Driver/Customer Service (Former Employee) says"The Streator store is absolutely the worst place I’ve worked. If you’re not family there they treat you like garbage. They make you do all the work while their family sits around and eats, or they would sit in the parking lot in their cars and smoke weed for hours. All bunched in to one or two cars passing a blunt around. One word I would describe my experience at domino’s at the Streator store is: trauma. I cried every night when I got home because they treated me like absolute garbage. And the pay isn’t even worth it. You make not even 6 bucks on the road and management would take my tips. Never made more than 50 a night. Others would make over a hundred and I ran more deliveries than most. It was truly an AWFUL experience. And I will NEVER recommend that place anywhere. That was the worst job I ever had. The job was basic, but the people will run that store to the ground. Cons: Garbage management"
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) says"My overall experience with Domino's has been stressful yet useful. Cons: Poor work and life balance"
Delivery Expert (Former Employee) says"Beyond that, store owners and management do not exist and only care about profit. A horrible experience when trying to stand out to managers who never notice the work you do. Getting any new items for the store that made work better or kept drivers cars from getting scratched up also never happened and it all came to personal cost. The drivers used to get .75 cents a mile for reimbursement, but after my 2 years I was only getting $1 for every deliver, which at the end of the day was not nearly enough to pay for my gas after making so many deliveries around town."
General Manager (Former Employee) says"Franchisee I wormed for terrible. Didn't care about his employees and neither did management team. Requires managers to be at store 7 days a week and not allowed to have any family time. Cons: Step up for being a slave."
Manager (Current Employee) says"If you want to work in a place with constant drama and horrible staff, this is perfect for you. Don’t waste your time on this place. They’ll hire anyone who walks in and it can cause issues between others. There are only a few managers there that aren’t too bad, but the job itself is hard. No one cares about the cleanliness of the building and just for anyone’s information who eats there, the bins for the food are never cleaned properly. I really hope the staff and management changed while I was gone. Cons: No breaks and too many horrible hires"
Auxiliar de sala (Former Employee) says"Despidos improcedentes, bajadas de salarios, subidas de cargo por enchufe y no por esfuerzo.."
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) says"You'll be unlikely to make much more than the minimum wage base rate of pay and/or whatever you earn in mileage as a driver. The customers in the town I worked in were awful and very stingy. The overwhelming majority of them either don't tip at all or give you next to nothing (such as using your tip to round a $38.56 bill to $40). Cons: Awful and stingy customers"
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) says"The pay is minimal, scheduling is sporadic and work is fast paced and stressful, with no breaks given even for long shifts. They do not care at all about their employees, and there is no recourse for employees with complaints since they do not have an HR department. Have a problem with management, getting screwed on hours or have an issue with your paycheck? Too bad, there is nothing you can do. Most stores are franchises so experience may vary depending on the owner. Cons: Everything about the job"
Manager (Former Employee) says"1. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT Cons: Everything"
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) says"Would not recommend this branch to anyone wanting a job. Manager(when he’s there) is fake and creates a horrible atmosphere, only changing if a higher manager visits the shop. There was a constant feeling that nobody cares and no one really did, apart from one or two people. Glad to be out of there. Cons: Zero job satisfaction"
Cashier (Former Employee) says"Upon hiring me, i had let them know i was starting a new medication that effected my health but i would do my best. I was fired for poor work and "not showing up for shifts" i had doctor appointments that the manager had told me i could go to and someone would cover for me Cons: Lazy management"
Delivery Driver • Delivery Route Coordinator (Former Employee) says"I did it in Hawaii. The money was ok, but the job puts a lot of wear and tear on your car, and you run around everywhere risking a speeding ticket so you can grab the next order a little faster. Cons: Wear and tear on your car, poor management"
Shift Runner (Former Employee) says"We don’t get breaks like normal work places. You’re expected to stay over 2 hours past your shift, they tell you it’s the business you have to. Favoritism is sooooo bad here that certain people pick when they come to work or not if they want to be hours late. They over work everyone, with NO CARE if you’re hurt or sick . If you’ve just come out the hospital they still want you to come to your shift while others get locked in their house and don’t have to show up. Overall I would NOT recommend working here unless it’s your first job and you don’t know labor laws. Cons: Everything. Management. Flexibility. Work through your lunch. Favoritism."
Instore team member / shift manager (Former Employee) says"disgustingly managed and not really sticking to workplace rights. your workplace concerns are ignored and you will not be valued and respected. if owned by franchisee your mental health and physical health will be destroyed as they will understaff the store to save labour and all they care about is money, they make u work so hard and carry a busy understaffed store and not get appreciated for it. rosters come out the day before your shift, not professional at all. Cons: mental and physical health affected"
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) says"First off managers are so unprofessional and not wanting to help. The drivers are paid horribly and treated like they are nothing to the company. They don’t care when they get in accidents in the job because guess what they edit people’s time on the clock so they don’t have anything to do with that. Cons: No breaks, No days you need off, not flexible, horrible environment, sexist"
Former Employee - Content says"I worked at Domino full-time for less than a year Cons: This company is all smoke and mirrors. Despite being a completely irrelevant publisher (exhibit A-Z is that every single review on glassdoor is for DOMINO'S PIZZA), this place utterly lacks personality, vision or diversity. It’s bad enough that the entire team sits on top of each other in a one room schoolhouse in Chelsea, but the team is utterly homogenous in both appearance and school of thought. Upper management is completely delusional and ineffective. HR is a joke. I'm not sure how they are still afloat considering they are a 10 year old+ company that operates like a mismanaged startup with an outdated revenue model. Stay far, far away unless you want to regret A LOT about your career decisions."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Domino full-time Cons: Clique-y, employees not treated right (undervalued, overworked, underpaid) negative work environment, no transparency, negative criticism when asked to work from home for legitimate reasons, no work/life balance"
Former Employee - Customer Service Representative says"I worked at Domino part-time for less than a year Cons: I was paid significantly less than my colleagues at the time due to my age and wound up paying more taxes than they did because it was a second job. The cleaning products were quit harsh on my hands and there was never an option to either work only weekends or only weekday evenings which would often stress me out when I was at my main job."
Former Employee - CSA says"I worked at Domino part-time for less than a year Cons: boring, awful pay, wierd hours"
says"I worked at Domino Cons: terrible pay and not much training"
Current Employee - Assistant Man says"I have been working at Domino part-time for more than 5 years Cons: Not great salary and career progression"
